This year marks the 15th year of Ultra Music Festival and monumental changes for the world-renowned dance music event. EDM fans excite over the two-weekend extension of Ultra Europe and its all-star line-up. Check out how Ultra Music Festival is even taking this premier event to new heights in Europe, according to an UltraMusicFestival.com press release.

Ultra Music Festival

The 15th annual Ultra Music Festival will take place over two weekends for the first time this year. Dates to remember include March 15 - 17 and March 22 - 24. Located in the heart of downtown Miami at Bicentennial Park, the event is expected to sell out of all 300,000 tickets; weekend two is already sold out! DJs and live acts will perform at one of the four arenas of the event, including A State Of Trance 600 Arena, Mixmag Arena, Space Ibiza and Carl Cox and Friends Arena.

People having fun at the concert

Originally created in 1999 as a pure electronic music festival, Ultra Music Festival was a confluence of underground ravers and partiers who flaunted their rave outfits and enjoyed their favorite beats. The event has grown to become the biggest dance music event in the world, featuring the hottest DJs and now crossover acts like M83, Bloc Party and Cut Copy. Ultra is recognized as the world's premier music festival. It's won Best Music Event by the International Dance Music Awards consecutively from 2005 to 2011 and Best Festival by the Village Voice Media New Times from 2005 to 2009. The EDM extravaganza also won Best International Dance Music Festival by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008.

Insane Lineup

Ultra Music Festival offers two different lineups for each weekend: phase one and phase two. Phase one features acts from dozens of DJs and live acts, including the industry's biggest names such as Tiesto, Afrojack, Calvin Harris and Fatboy Slim. Ultra will be the last performance for Swedish House Mafia who debuted as a DJ trio at the festival in 2010. Live acts for phase one will include performances by The Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Major Lazer Thievery Corporation and more. The phase two line-up features performances by Alesso, Benny Benassi, Dog Blood, Dirty South, Fedde Le Grand, Pretty Lights and more.

Ultra Europe

Ultra announced it will extend its brand for the first time by hosting a 2013 festival in Europe between July 12th and 14th. The festival will be held in Croatia at two locations, including the Poljud Stadium in the city of Split for the first two days and at the Hotel Amfora Grand Beach Resort on the island of Hvar on the last day. Festival organizers expect over 60,000 attendees. Executive Producer, CEO and founder of the event, Russell Faibisch, released a statement saying that dance music is one of the most rapidly growing genres that exists in the world. He adds that the "highly developed music scene in Croatia and the excellent reputation of Split and Hvar as top tourist destinations" will offer an incredible experience. For Faibisch and the Ultra Music Festival, "the decision to bring Ultra Music Festival... in the form of Ultra Europe was an easy one to make."
